Feed Filter collects nothing. It has no server, makes no network requests of any kind, and contains no analytics, tracking or telemetry. Everything it records stays in your browser's local storage on your own device, and nobody — including the developer — can see it.
Feed Filter identifies which posts in your Facebook home feed come from friends you added and groups you joined, and lets you count, dim, hide or opt out of the rest. To do that it reads the content of Facebook pages you have opened yourself, in your browser, as they are displayed.
All of the following is written to your browser's local extension storage
(storage.local). It never leaves your device. It is not synced between your
browsers or computers.

Post text is read into memory in order to classify a post and to recognise the same post appearing twice, and is then discarded. It is never written to storage, never retained after the page is closed, and never transmitted anywhere.

This is not data collection, but it is worth stating plainly. Two optional features, both switched off unless you turn them on, use Facebook's own “Hide all from…” setting on your behalf:
These change a preference on your Facebook account. The effect is permanent until you reverse it on Facebook (Settings → News Feed → Reconnect), and it applies wherever you use Facebook, including on your phone. Every use is recorded in the local log described above so you can review what was done.
Because nothing is ever sent anywhere, there is no copy of your data for anyone to disclose, correct or delete on your behalf. You hold the only copy, and you can remove it at any time:
Note that removing the extension does not undo any “Hide all from…” settings already applied to your Facebook account; those are reversed on Facebook itself.
The extension bundles no third-party code, libraries or services. It loads nothing from the internet at runtime. No third party receives any information from it, because it sends none.
Your use of Facebook remains governed by Facebook's own terms and privacy policy. This extension is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Meta Platforms, Inc.
The extension is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, regardless of age.
If the extension's handling of data ever changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised. Because the extension collects nothing, any change here would represent a significant change in what it does.
