Privacy Policy for De-Trump

De-Trump is a browser extension that replaces occurrences of Donald Trump's name in the text of web pages you view with a nickname from a word list bundled inside the extension. It is a purely cosmetic change that happens locally in your browser.

Data collection

De-Trump does not collect any data. At all.

• No personal information is collected, stored, or transmitted.
• No browsing history, page content, or activity is recorded.
• No analytics, telemetry, ads, or tracking of any kind.
• No cookies are set or read.
• The extension makes no network requests. It never communicates with any server.

What the extension stores

The extension saves exactly one setting on your own device using the browser's built-in extension storage: whether you have toggled it on or off. This value never leaves your browser and is deleted when you uninstall the extension.

How page content is handled

To do its job, the extension reads the text of pages you visit and rewrites matching names directly in your browser's display of the page. This processing happens entirely on your device. Page content is never sent anywhere, and the websites themselves are not modified for anyone else.

Permissions

• Access to websites — required so the extension can replace text on the pages you visit. Used for nothing else.
• Storage — required to remember your on/off preference between browser sessions.

Third parties

No data is shared with third parties, because no data is collected in the first place.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new "last updated" date.
